Innoleo® LHS is a lithium 12-hydroxystearate soap used as a pre-formed thickener in lithium grease production. The product allows the manufacturer to avoid the evaporation steps required to make the soap “in-situ.” The removal of these steps can lead to a more consistent crystal formation at an overall lower cost. The use of the pre-formed soap also allows the formulator to make a biobased grease by incorporating BT’s line of estolides to create innovative, biodegradable greases that can meet sustainability mandates.
